Work Health Index – Datapoint evidence

This document provides a summary of the evolving supporting evidence for data point selection for the Work Health Index including business and stakeholder engagement on businesses’ best practice as well as academic evidence and broader research. The datapoint evidence base is continuing its development throughout beta testing. The below also aims to provide evidence behind the measurement of health provision, policies and practices rather than the success of interventions and health outcomes in the beta phase.

The data points for the Work Health Index have undergone and continue to follow a rigorous testing and consultation process which began in February 2022 and will continue throughout beta testing.

This consultation includes;

  • Three CBI member roundtables (February, May, July) attended by over 120 UK businesses.
  • B4H Core Working Group
  • 1-2-1 CBI member meetings
  • Wider stakeholder engagement
  • Direct with NHS England, DHSC, DWP, HSE
